Samsung’s new OLED TVs are smarter, faster, and brighter

Summary

  • Samsung has introduced its 2025 OLED TVs — the S85F, S90F, and S95F series — featuring Samsung Vision AI technology and One UI Tizen.
  • The S95F series, Samsung’s top-tier model, offers a glare-free OLED screen and a 165Hz refresh rate.
  • Samsung’s S85F series, an entry-level model, is the most affordable but still provides 4K AI Upscaling and Color Booster Pro.

After Sony recently unveiled its new lineup of Bravia TVs for 2025, Samsung has pulled back the curtain on its 2025 OLED TVs, revealing three stunning series that are now available: the S85F, S90F, and S95F.

All three series will come in multiple screen sizes and feature Samsung Vision AI technology. This means the TVs are equipped with an AI processor for enhanced picture and sound quality, along with One UI Tizen, which Samsung refers to as “the next evolution” of its Tizen OS, a platform that has been operating on its TVs for over a decade. One UI Tizen represents a design overhaul of Tizen OS, making the TV’s design language similar to that of Samsung’s smartphones, tablets, and watches, providing a more streamlined experience across its entire ecosystem of devices.

Samsung also promises seven years of OS updates for One UI Tizen, so if you purchase any of its 2025 OLED TVs, you can rest assured they’ll be supported for a long time. But without further ado, let’s explore Samsung’s three new OLED TV series for 2025.

Samsung S95F 55-inch OLED TV

Samsung’s new S95F series of OLED TVs is the direct successor to last year’s S95D series. The South Korean tech giant claims the S95F features its “brightest-ever OLED screen” and is now available in three screen sizes: a 55-inch model for $2,300, a 65-inch model for $3,200, and a 77-inch model for $4,500. An 83-inch model is expected to launch soon, but no price or release date has been announced.

The S95F series incorporates Samsung’s OLED Glare-Free technology, which “virtually” eliminates glare and reflections from the screens, along with OLED HDR Pro for improved color contrast and accuracy. If you’re looking for a TV for gaming, the S95F series includes Samsung’s Motion Xcelerator, providing a 165Hz refresh rate for smooth gameplay at high frame rates. The TVs are powered by Samsung’s latest NQ4 AI Gen3 processor which “optimizes contrast, brightness, depth and color across every scene.”

Samsung asserts that the S95F series represents its “best OLED yet.” The S95F series is available now.

Samsung S90F 55-inch OLED TV

The mid-range S90F series is somewhat of a step-down from the S95F series, but it remains very impressive and features several premium features that make the TV stand out. This includes 4K AI Upscaling Pro, which, as the name implies, enhances everything displayed on the screen to a 4K resolution. The S90F series is currently available in six screen sizes: a 42-inch model for $1,300, a 48-inch model for $1,500, a 55-inch model for $1,800, a 65-inch model for $2,500, a 77-inch model for $3,500, and an 83-inch model for $5,400.

The S90F series utilizes OLED HDR+, which delivers more accurate colors and deeper contrast by analyzing each scene in a show or movie to maximize picture quality. It also utilizes Motion Xcelerator technology for gamers, but it supports refresh rates up to 144Hz, which is slightly lower than the S95’s 165Hz. The TVs are powered by Samsung’s latest NQ4 AI Gen3 processor for “incredible picture and dynamic sound,” and the smoothest Samsung Vision AI experience.

The S90F series is available now on Samsung’s website.

Samsung S85F 55-inch OLED TV

The entry-level S85F series is Samsung’s most affordable new 2025 55-inch OLED TV, featuring an NQ4 AI Gen2 Processor, which is not as powerful as the NQ4 AI Gen3 found in the S95F and S90F series. Nevertheless, the S85F series still provides a lot, including 4K AI Upscaling and Color Booster Pro, which utilizes AI to analyze scenes and enhance colors and details.

The S85F series is currently available in four screen sizes: a 55-inch model for $1,500, a 65-inch model for $2,000, a 77-inch model for $3,000, and an 83-inch model for $4,500.

For comparison, the 55-inch S95F costs $2,300, and the 55-inch S90F costs $1,800. Thus, there is an $800 price difference between the 55-inch S85F and S95F, and a $300 price difference between the 55-inch S85F and S90F.

Samsung claims the S85F series provides “the same pure blacks, bright whites, and Pantone-Validated color” as its other 2025 OLED TVs, which is commendable given the S85’s lower price point. The S85’s Motion Xcelerator is also lower, offering 120Hz compared to the S90’s 144Hz and the S95’s 165Hz. The S85F series is available now.
