Next month, Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Ultra releases worldwide. Announced at Galaxy Unpacked, the latest high-end smartphone from the South Korean tech giant offers several novel upgrades. If you’re in the market for the Galaxy S25 Ultra, you’ll likely want to protect it by using a well-made phone case.
Like any other phone, the Galaxy S25 Ultra is susceptible to scratches, dings, and other cosmetic damage. A reliable phone case can provide an extra layer of security when using your device. It can also protect against unfortunate, unforeseen drops while walking to the grocery store or wear and tear from tossing your device down at the gym. With the Galaxy S25 Ultra, some cases even add extra bells and whistles that protect your phone and enhance the experience of using a case.
With the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s launch looming, here are all the things I want from a protective phone case
Galaxy S25 Ultra
The highest-end variant of Samsung’s flagship smartphone lineup for 2025, the S25 Ultra ships with the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, a massive 6.9-inch display, and a quad camera setup.

1 My case needs to have a drop-resistant design
Over the years, smartphones have become more resilient and durable. The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, for instance, has a titanium chassis and features Corning’s Gorilla Armor 2 glass. While this is great for light scratches when setting the Galaxy S25 Ultra on a desk, there’s no guarantee it’ll protect your device from a drop.
I need to have a well-made drop-resistant case on my Galaxy S25 Ultra at all times.
I’m typically a pretty risk-averse user, so I try not to throw or drop my phone when I’m out or at the gym. However, I still like to have a drop-resistant case in the event that it happens. I’ve had some close calls with my smartphones in the past. Dropping them on concrete, ceramic, and other hard surfaces, I’m also humbled by my clumsiness. To counter this, I need to have a well-made drop-resistant case on my Galaxy S25 Ultra at all times.

2 Some sort of camera protection for the Galaxy S25 Ultra is a must
One of the crowning jewels of a smartphone is its camera, so protect it
As the years go by, I’ve become more aware of how much care is needed to protect the camera array on your smartphone. Granted, the Galaxy S25 Ultra lenses are pretty durable. However, beyond smudges, a scratch or indent on the lens can ruin your next perfect shot. So many cases these days offer a nice lip that surrounds the camera. This way, if your Galaxy S25 Ultra does drop on a flat surface, it won’t come into direct contact. However, that doesn’t account for uneven surfaces.
A camera cover is one of the most novel features I’ve seen on some Galaxy S25 Ultra cases. Fixed to the case with a small hinge, the camera cover offers enhanced protection to your camera array. Now, the triple camera setup of the Galaxy S25 Ultra, including the new 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens, is protected. The best part is that the camera cover usually keeps the case as flush as possible. That way you can still throw it into your pocket or a bag without it feeling awkward.

3 A big phone needs a big kickstand
With a 6.9-inch display, the Galaxy S25 Ultra begs for a kickstand
Supcase
I’m typically mixed on whether I want a kickstand for my phone. For a smaller, more compact device like the iPhone 16 Pro, I never feel the need to use a kickstand. However, with more screen real estate and a larger body, the Galaxy S25 Ultra sometimes deserves to be used with a kickstand. With such a gorgeous AMOLED display, viewing content is a dream on the device. However, even halfway through an episode of The Office, your wrist will inevitably begin to get at least a bit soar.
With a kickstand, you can place the Galaxy S25 Ultra on a desk, your bedside table, or even a foldable table on a plane. Viewing content becomes that much more convenient because of it. This also goes a long way if you’re playing a game on your phone. If you’re utilizing a Bluetooth controller, a kickstand frees up your hands so you can play your games seamlessly and effortlessly.

4 My Galaxy S25 Ultra case needs magnets
It’s difficult to give up MagSafe after using it for so long
Being a long-time iPhone user, I’ve now grown accustomed to how convenient magnetic case technology is. While commonly associated with Apple products, magnetic cases are equally as fundamental when using an Android device, like the Galaxy S25 Ultra. I need my case to support MagSafe, so it’s easy to place on a compatible charger.
Magnetic Qi2-compatible cases also allow you to add accessories. With magnetic kickstands, pop sockets, and wallet accessories, you can tailor your use of the technology to your preferences.

5 Personalize your Galaxy S25 Ultra more
While I like the launch colorways, I want more options for my new Samsung phone
Supcase
At launch, the Galaxy S25 Ultra will be available in four colors: titanium black, gray, silver blue, and white silver. Each hue is stunning in its own respect. However, if you have a particular color or texture in mind for your new device, a case could help make it a reality. With endless case designs out there, there’s a case for all moods and personalities.
I’ve always gravitated to more muted or darker color options when it comes to my phone. I’m also not a particular fan of the metallic titanium look of many modern smartphones. Beacuse of this, I usually opt for a subtle dark case, and it serves me and my personal tastes well.
