Clicks’ Android Keyboard Case Makes Your Foldable Phone Look Like an Old School Palm Pilot

Everyone has said the Clicks keyboard case makes the iPhone look like a Blackberry. But now that the company is making cases for Android phones, particularly foldables, I think it looks more like this Casio Secret Sender Diary I had when I was 12. I begged for that thing for my birthday. If you compare the photo of the Motorola Razr+ with the newly minted Clicks keyboard case, then squint just a little bit, you’ll notice it, too.

The Clicks physical keyboard case was initially launched last year for the iPhone 15 Pro and later for the iPhone 16 Pro. This is the first time it’s available for any Android device. The Clicks keyboard now works with the Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro (not the Pixel 9 Pro XL), the Galaxy S25 (and only the Galaxy S25, as the FAQ suggests), and the Moto Razr+, which is a flip phone and the one that looks like an old-school “electronic diary” with the keyboard case lobbed on. There are different cases for the various phone lines, and each one transforms the smartphone into an entirely different device when the case is on.

The Clicks cases for Android come in a few colors, including Onyx, black, and Electric, blue with gray trim. There’s also a loud yellow and purple variant called Surge, which looks like it’s made for fans of the LA Lakers. Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if there was a little kowtowing to Google’s Senior Vice President of Devices & Services, Rick Osterloh, with these styles since he’s a self-professed basketball lover.

The Clicks keyboard case looks and functions much like the one for the iPhone on the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, and Galaxy S25. Once the keyboard locks into the USB-C port, it lights up and is ready to use. You can employ Android’s built-in keyboard shortcut setup to get creative with the inputs. The physical keyboard also helps reclaim screen space from the keyboard app, making for nicer screenshots.

The Moto Razr+ version speaks to me the most because of its interesting form factor. Mr. Mobile, co-founder of Clicks, published a walkthrough of the different keyboard cases on YouTube. Given how much it’s possible to fully use an Android app on the Razr+’s cover screen, the Clicks case makes it so that you don’t even have to open up the phone if you don’t want to. For the $130 price, there might be something there.

Maybe it’s finally time I give the Clicks keyboard case a try. We have one floating around for the iPhone 15 Pro. It was back when I got my nails done more regularly and had difficulty using the keyboard case. It’s a thumbs-first kind of input device. But things change, and with the keyboard case coming through for folding phones, there may be a future between me and the Clicks. Just wait until they make this for Samsung’s Z Flip phones.

The Pixel 9 version of the Clicks will be available first in April, followed by the Razr+ and then the Samsung Galaxy S25. All of them are available for pre-order until March 21 for $100. After that, it’s $130.
